Hi-Hog's Calving Enclosure with it's reliable center mounted self-catch Headgate provides Full two side access to your cow in a stable maternity pen structure.
Hi-Hog's Safe and Efficient Calving Enclosure
- The self-catch Calving Headgate with adjustable stanchions is centered in the front panel to provide the safest hold for your cows. The centered position of the animal offers excellent access to either side which is particularly good when you are trying to get twins to suck, or if you’re trying to milk out on one side while a calf sucks on the other side
- The convenient handler access gates on either side of the Headgate come with self-locking plunger latches for quick secure access
- Livestock aren’t tempted to test the heavy duty 66” high side panels
- Like the #125 Calving / Trimming Chute, the Calving Enclosure comes with split side panels mounted to the front Calving Enclosure frame. These panels can be swung out to the sides of the Calving Enclosure to assist in catching the cow. The split panels will hit the sides at an angle leaving a safe zone at the front of the Enclosure for the handler
- Folding braces allow you to swing the split panels in beside the animal and lock them securely in position for maximum animal control
- Two ¼” x 48” chains with quick links are included to allow you to anchor to any of the four split panels. Attach the chains end-to-end to lengthen the chain when required
- When calving is over you can easily remove the split panels to create a 10’ x 10’ pen. The overall Enclosure size including front extensions is 10’ wide x 12’ long x 66″ high. The side panels extend 2’ beyond the head gate for superior stability.
- The rear frame with gate is only 7’ tall, it is a great option for structures with limited head room.

Like the #100 Manual Squeeze Headgate the #110 Calving Headgate will open fully, both in and out of the Calving Enclosure. This eliminates the threat of hip lock. Hi-Hog’s reliable and efficient Self-Catch Calving Headgate lets the animal catch itself so you can use your time to work the animal, outside of it's field of vision.
Before you begin working your animals, you will want to set the neck opening on the stanchions for the size of cattle you will be handling. Quick adjust plungers on the top and bottom of the #110 Calving Headgate make it possible to adjust the Headgate opening on the fly (no tools required). The available stanchion openings are 5” to 10.5” in width.

Customer Review
I bought a Hi-Hog calving enclosure because the head gate is located in the center of the pen with a split gate on each side. I really like the head gate in the center especially for trying to get calves to suck or milking a cow out. I also think it is easier to pull a calf, or, if a cow happens to go down on you. My vets have also said that they prefer this set up to one with the head gate on the side. I have had this pen for thirteen years now and while it seemed like a lot of money initially I would not be without it now. I have used this to breed a lot of cows and for other jobs and have even put mature cows in it and dehorned them and worked on big bulls without doing any damage to the pen and have never had an animal move it any noticeable amount.

#1130 Calving Enclosure Parts
Calving Headgate, Item #110
The #110 Calving Headgate now comes with a dual position Handle.
It is recommended to have the Handle kept in the straight position when used on the Calving Enclosure other wise when opening the Headgate forward the hand will interfere with the front frame and side access gate.
The #110 Calving Headgate has many of the same features as our #100 Manual Squeeze Headgate. Unlike the Manual Squeeze Headgate the Calving Headgate does not include sheet metal side guards or a head-tie-down chain. Both the Headgate handle and the width adjustment drop pins are simplified.
The #110 Calving Headgate will open fully both in and out of the chute. This eliminates the threat of hip lock.
The self-catch Headgate lets the animal catch itself, with a positive lock and the forward momentum of the animal.
